Much to the chagrin of the present government, there is more bad news on the economic front even as it cannot sort political dissent peacefully and humanly.
The UNDP has a release saying that Nepal seriously lacks in human development priorities. A report published on Thursday by UNDP acting Resident Representative Jorhen Lissnet mentions that Nepal has been able to spend only 2 percent of its GNP in the last five years on the highest priority sector. Unless Nepal spends on priority sectors, the poorest of the poor will not get a chance to improve their life.
Among other Asian Nations’ standing on the Human Development Index China is 79,
India is 121, Bangladesh is 135, Nepal is 140 and Bhutan is among 160 Nations.
