
Kathmandu, May 20: Foreign Minister Dr. Arzu Rana Deuba left for Tokyo, Japan, Monday night to attend the International Conference on Social Isolation Among Senior Citizens, which begins on Wednesday. Minister Deuba is scheduled to address the conference on behalf of Nepal.
The conference, organized by the Foundation for the Welfare and Education of the Asian People, will be attended by ministers, high-ranking government officials, and senior social activists from more than 12 countries.
Minister Deuba, who has been working for a long time in the field of economic upliftment and social protection of Nepali women through organizations including the Rural Women and Development Center (RUDUK), Safe Motherhood Network, and others, has been invited as a special speaker for the program.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has stated that she is scheduled to hold important bilateral meetings while in Japan. She will return home next Saturday.
