Kathmandu, May 19: Former President Bidya Devi Bhandari is set to embark on a week-long visit to China. She is scheduled to depart for China on May 24 at the invitation of the Chinese Communist Party and the Chinese government, her secretariat informed.

The secretariat stated that she is scheduled to visit China leading a team of UML leaders, however, details about the visit have not been fixed.

During the visit, she is scheduled to meet with high-level political leaders of China.

Former President Bhandari's visit is considered meaningful at a time when voices of unity among Nepal's communist parties are increasingly being raised at the cadre level.
