
Kathmandu, May 16: The Bhoto Jatra (Bhoto-Showing Festival) of Lalitpur's Rato Machhindranath will take place on June 1. The Bhoto-Showing Festival is the main attraction of the Rato Machhindranath's Rath Jatra.
The chariot of Rato Machhindranath is going to be carried out to Jawalakhel from the Thati toll and after four days, the Bhoto Jatra will take place. Senior priests also astrologers gathered at Shorokhute, have decided on the auspicious time to display Bhoto on June 1.
As the festival is considered an important event, a public holiday will be announced in the Kathmandu Valley on June 1.
Rato Machhindranath is the god of prosperity and is observed for good rains and good harvests.
President, Prime Minister, Ministers, and high-level dignitaries, including heads of the diplomatic missions, will be invited to observe the event on June 1 at Jawalakhel.
