Kathmandu, May 16: Foreign Minister Dr. Arzu Rana Deuba has said that climate change is not only threatening the fate of the human race but also its future. At the inaugural session of the first edition of the Sagarmatha Dialogue, which began in Kathmandu on Friday, Minister Rana said that climate change is no longer a problem of any particular region or country, but a global problem and that it is putting the entire humanity in danger.
She said that there is a need to move forward with joint and collective efforts as the efforts of any country alone are not sufficient to deal with this global crisis.
Minister Rana said that the Sagarmatha dialogue explains explained about serious impact of climate change on human beings.
Stating that the environment of Nepal and the world is currently at risk from climate change, Minister Rana stressed the need for everyone to think in a timely manner as the lack of honest dialogue and effective action can also put the future of humanity in great danger.
Nepal is facing the biggest crisis. "We act as custodians of our rivers, forests, and mountains, yet we are forced to face the heavy and disproportionate burden of the negative impacts of climate change." This is a grave injustice and must be addressed immediately, or it will be too late.
