Kathmandu, May 15: A delegation led by Xiao Jie, Vice Chairman of the Standing Committee of the Chinese People's Congress, who is visiting Nepal, paid a courtesy call on Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli today.

During the meeting at the Prime Minister's residence in Baluwatar, the Chinese delegation expressed their wishes for the success of the Sagarmatha Dialogue to be held in Kathmandu from May 16 and emphasized China's readiness to further enhance the long-standing and friendly relations between the two countries. They acknowledged China's leadership's good wishes for Nepal's development and prosperity and recalled the successful formal visit to China by Prime Minister Oli last December.

Prime Minister Oli mentioned that Nepal and China have had a long-standing friendly, problem-free, and cordial relationship, and expressed his satisfaction with China's rapid development in the fields of development and technology and its global impact.

PM Oli, recalling Chinese President Xi Jinping's recent visit to Nepal, mentioned that the visit was multifaceted and historic. He reiterated Nepal's full commitment to the One China policy and emphasized the need for all parties to take the initiative in implementing the cooperation agreements between the two countries.

During the meeting, the PM's chief advisor Bishnu Prasad Rimal, the Chinese Ambassador Chen Song, the Nepali Ambassador to China Dr. Krishna Prasad Oli, and senior officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs were present.
