
Kathmandu, May 14: After completing necessary maintenance works, the Nepal Airlines Corporation has brought into operation the two Twin Otter aircraft that were grounded for a long time.
The Airlines is scheduled to operate the two STOL aircraft in the remote destinations of the country.
According to the spokesperson of the Corporation, Suvas Dangi, the aircraft with call signs 9N ABT and 9N-ABU aircraft have become fully operational.
All the domestic flights of the Airlines are operated by two Twin Otter aircraft, said Dangi.
After the resumption of flights to remote destinations, local people can receive air service easily at an economical price, as the Airlines has hoped.
New engines have been replaced on the two aircraft, and maintenance works were conducted according to the standard of the aircraft manufacturer company, the spokesperson stated in a statement.
Executive chairman of the Corporation, Ubraj Adhikari, has given instructions to the concerned authorities to operate four flights by each aircraft to the remote destinations so that people from the remote areas would benefit.
