Prime Minister K.P. Sharma Oli, addressing a special event in Lumbini, the birthplace of the Lord Buddha, on the occasion of the 2569th birth anniversary of the Lord Buddha, claimed that India and Pakistan, upon his request for ending the war, a ceasefire was announced.

Earlier, Madhav Nepal, presently chairman of the Ekikrit Samajwadi Party had claimed that upon his initiative North Korea and South Korea held peace talks, from which the USA was surprised.  

The claims by the two leaders have been taken as big jokes and become viral on social media.

According to a diplomat, Nepal’s statement supporting India on the Pehalgam terrorist attack and the Indian attack on Pakistan was a serious diplomatic blunder performed by Nepal.

By forgetting the status of the Chair of the SAARC, Nepal was taking a side with India by annoying Pakistan, a prominent member of the SAARC and also a close friend of Nepal.       

A progressive marriage

Last week, we saw a drama at the Perisdanda, the headquarters of the Maoist Center. A progressive marriage ceremony was held there in a simple way or say a Communist mirage.

The same evening, the same couple hosted a lavish dinner at The Terraces Resort in Lakuribhanjyan, a most expensive five-star resort in Kathmandu. Prachanda and his family members attended the ceremony. During the night, Prachanda slept in the toilet, (perhaps due to the effect of expensive Scotch?) and was rushed to a hospital. He was injured on his face and head, reports state.

To show the poor and honest party workers, the progressive marriage was conducted at the party headquarters but the actual event was taken place at the luxury resort. How the Maoists are fooling people, this is just an example!

Mission ‘84

The political parties in the government are preparing grounds for Mission ’84. In 2084 BS, the country is exercising three levels of elections. Election has become expensive, therefore, middlemen or say brokers have become active in collecting funds for election purposes. For every political and administrative appointment, the brokers have fixed the price of the posts. Just recently, some responsible leaders said that the price for the post of governor was set above one billion rupees. Perhaps, the brokers are raising funds for the political parties for the '84 elections.

Total proportional election?

Maoist supremo Pushpakamal Dahal Prachanda said that the present election process has become very expensive, therefore, the total proportional election system should be introduced by amending the constitution.

Perhaps, he didn’t see a chance to get victory in the 2084 BS election as he already quit a constituency in Chitwan and now, Dr Baburam Bhattarai is unlikely to leave his constituency for Prachanda. Therefore, the 2084 election can be very expensive for Prachanda. If a total proportional election system is introduced, without any hurdle and without receiving any direct votes, all family members and relatives can be adjusted through the election.

Let's not comment about the court now. Rabindra Mishra, who was facing charges of crime against the state and organized crime kept in police custody for above 41 days without any evidence. Again, another crime has been imposed on him to keep him under custody further. Will this type of arrest belong to the due process of law? This is unjust.
