Kathmandu, May 13: The audience attendance at the program held in Lumbini on the occasion of Buddha Jayanti under the chief guest Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli on Monday was seen to be very low.

Due to low attendance, empty chairs were seen in the International Buddhist Assembly hall, which has a capacity of 5 thousand persons. One of the organizers said, “The program attended by the Prime Minister was very dull due to the low number of attendees.”

Although some audience was seen in the first row of the hall, there were empty chairs in the back. The participants in the program also could not sit patiently. The police also seemed quite relaxed.

PM Oli's remarks were brief. Along with PM Oli at the ceremony were Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Badri Pandey, Chief Minister of Lumbini Chetan Narayan Acharya, federal and provincial MPs, ambassadors from various countries, monks, nuns, devotees, and members of the public.

PM Oli had reached Lumbini, the birthplace of Lord Buddha, to address the main event organized there.
