
Kathmandu, May 13: 175 foreign representatives are expected to participate in the Sagarmatha Sambad. At a press conference organized at Singha Durbar on Tuesday, Foreign Minister Dr. Arzu Rana Deuba said that 175 foreign guests will participate in the Sagarmatha Sambad.
The Sambad, an international conference on climate change is taking place from May 16 to 18.
Foreign Minister Deuba informed that 350 people will participate in the dialogue. She said that the presence of ministers and even the parliamentary deputy speaker will be present in the Sagarmatha dialogue. The foreign high-level representatives participating in the dialogue are also scheduled to meet with Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli on a courtesy call and hold sideline meetings with their counterparts.
Deuba informed that preparations for the dialogue have reached the final stage. She said that the government has organized about 10 pre-dialogue programs in preparation. Under which there are Himalayan Dialogue in Jumla, Air Dialogue in Kathmandu, Pre Dialogue, etc. Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli will inaugurate the dialogue program that will be conducted for three days, Rana informed.
Similarly, Minister Deuba will welcome the guests at the event, and a video clip prepared regarding the dialogue will be presented. Minister Rana said that representatives from China and India, as well as the President of COP 29 and the representative of the President of Azerbaijan on climate issues, will also address the meeting.
