Kathmandu, May 11: Mahalaxmi Development Bank, which is providing secure, and easy digital banking facilities to its customers, has launched the latest inter-bank scan to cash (S2C) service in collaboration with PhonePe. Mahalaxmi Development Bank has become the first development bank in Nepal to launch such a service.

Under this, customers can withdraw cash easily by scanning the QR at the teller counter through the mobile banking app of any bank. This service, which was started from the Darbar Marg branch and Thapathali branch of the bank in the initial phase, will be expanded across the country shortly. The bank believes that the extension of this facility will help reduce the compulsion to withdraw cash traditionally through the use of cheques or ATM cards.

Further strengthening its commitment to digital innovation, the bank has already launched a cross-border QR payment service through the Alipay Plus network in collaboration with Nepal Clearing House Limited. Through this service, tourists coming from China, Singapore, South Korea, and other countries will be able to scan NepalPay QR and pay easily from their country's digital wallet in Nepal.
