Kathmandu, May 9: In a statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA), the government expressed its commitment against terrorism in all its forms and manifestations and expressed solidarity with India during this time of grief.

Amidst escalating tensions between India and Pakistan following the terrorist attack in Pahalgam on April 22, the government of Nepal on Thursday (May 8) issued a statement urging both nations to exercise restraint and prioritize regional stability.

“Nepal shall not allow any inimical forces to use its soil against its neighboring countries,” MoFA stated reinforcing the country’s stance on upholding peace and non-interference.

The MoFA has urged for a peaceful resolution to the heightened tensions, the government highlighted the critical need for lasting stability and cooperation in South Asia, positioning itself as a supporter of diplomacy and regional harmony.

Nepal condemned the Pahalgam attack, which claimed the lives of 26 people including a Nepali national, and extended condolences to the victims and their families.
