Vijaya Chauthaiwale, the in-charge of the foreign affairs department of the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party, was in Nepal last week.
During his three-day stay in Kathmandu, Chauthaiwale had exclusive meetings with almost all leaders of Nepal.
Chauthaiwale arrived in Nepal to garner Nepal's support in the escalating tension between India and Pakistan after the terrorist attacks in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, in which 26 civilians including a Nepali national were killed on April 22.
He met chiefs and second-rung leaders of almost all political parties. He met Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, former prime ministers Sher Bahadur Deuba, Pushpa Kamal Dahal and Madhav Kumar Nepal, Nepali Congress leaders Shekhar Koirala, Gagan Thapa, Prakash Sharan Mahat, Udaya Sumsher Rana, and senior CPN (Maoist Centre) leader Janardan Sharma.
Likewise, he also met Foreign Affairs Minister Arzu Rana Deuba and Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak, among others.
