The Embassy of the Russian Federation in Kathmandu observed the 80th anniversary of the Victory Day of the Great Patriotic War on May 6 amidst a function. Addressing the event, Ambassador of the Russian Federation Aleksei A. Novikov paid tribute to the war heroes and martyrs who sacrificed their lives in the war.

The Ambassador also apprised the war heroes who are fighting in the war against Ukraine. Russia will win the war against Ukraine, which is a proxy war against Europe or the West.

The Ambassador appreciated Russia-Nepal bilateral relations and expressed the commitment to support Nepal.

On the occasion, the Ambassador honored Nepali dignitaries with a token of love to Chiribabu Maharjan, Mayor of the Lalitpur Metropolis Corporation, Upendra Mahato, and others for their remarkable contribution to strengthening Nepal-Russia relations.

In the same occasion, a photo exhibition was also organized displaying the patriotic war.
