The Chhahari Youth Club in Jorpati has rewarded the Gurukul with the Social Service Award.
A purse with fifty-one thousand one hundred eleven rupees was handed over to the Gurukul at a function on April 30 by Bimal Thakuri, Minister for Tourism and Culture, Bagmati Province, to Gobinda Shrestha, secretary of the Gurukul.
On the same occasion, the Club honoured Gurukul’s founding chairman Dr Krishiram Pokhrel.
Madhab Khanal, patron of the Club shed light on the activities of the Club.
Educationist Haribhakta Shrestha, social worker Gobinda Shrestha, literate Baburam Poudel, patron Dipak Singh Bhandari, and Ward Chair Jayaram Mahat addressed the function.
Gurukul’s Batuk Madhusudan Parajuli recited a poem on the occasion.
Founding chairman of the Club, Laxaman Shrestha, Achyutram Chalise, Sarita Risal, Radhika Shrestha, Sanjaya Acharya, Binod Chapagain, and Niranjan Shrestha, among others, had made remarkable contributions to success the program chaired by Club’s chairman Sangam Shrestha.
