The new commerce policy has come in the wake of new industrial joint ventures with aliens without the proposed industrial policy, vehemently resented by the industrialists, having been announced publicly.

Trade diversification has been given the top priority, which again, is hogwash when dependency with the Indian business and economy has been accentuated ever since the multi-party is in vogue, and, especially, since the Koirala government is in power.
