Kathmandu, May 4: Rastriya Prajatantra Party VicChairman Bikram Panda has expressed solidarity with the ongoing relay hunger strike demanding the release of RPP leader Rabindra Mishra, Shahi Yuva Shakti Chairman Pashupati Khadka, and others who were arrested during the March 28 peace assembly at Tinkune.

Pandey, who is also a member of the House of Representatives, reached Jawalakhel, Lalitpur, on Sunday to express support for the relay hunger strike. RPP leader Niranjan Thapa said that Pandey met participants of the relay hunger strike organized by the pro-monarchy campaigners and told them that prisoners of faith should be released and human rights should be respected.

The relay hunger strike has entered its third day. According to the organizers, the hunger strike will continue until the government releases the prisoners of faith detained on false charges. The hunger strikers say that the government is trying to frame RPP leader Mishra and others on false charges.

Meanwhile, the Kathmandu Court has extended permission to the Police to keep Mishra and others for a further five days.
