Kathmandu, May 2: Indian BJP leader Vijay Chauthaiwale is in town seeking Nepal’s support for India on the Pahalgam terrorist attack.

Chauthaiwale, as the envoy of the BJP government, met with leaders from different political parties, including Prime Minister K.P. Sharma Oli and urged for Nepal’s sympathy and support on the Pahalgam terrorist attack in Jammu and Kashmir.

Prime Minister met him on Thursday. PM Oli's Secretariat said that various issues of mutual relations and interests between the two countries were discussed during the meeting held at the Prime Minister's residence in Baluwatar.

Chauthaiwale, who is on a three-day visit to Nepal, met 12 leaders, including the prime minister and three former prime ministers, from the ruling and opposition parties in two days on Wednesday and Thursday. He started meeting with the leaders from Home Minister Ramesh Lekhi on Wednesday and continued till Thursday evening. On Wednesday, Chauthaiwale had dinner meetings with Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba and Foreign Minister Arzu Rana Deuba, as well as Congress leader Shekhar Koirala at night.

Chauthaiwale's series of meetings began in the wee hours of Thursday. Deuba couple were together during the meeting. On Thursday, he met Maoist Chairman and former Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal and Chairman of Unified Socialist and former Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal. He also met Congress general secretary Gagan Thapa, and Congress leaders Prakash Sharan Mahat and Udaya Shamsher Rana. He also met Maoist leader Janardan Sharma.

He met Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli in the evening.

Chauthaiwale is returning home today.

His meeting was coordinated by Indian External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar and the Indian Embassy in Kathmandu, according to reports.
