
Kathmandu, May 1: The teachers' street movement, which has been going on for the 29th day, has been withdrawn with the nine-point agreement with the government.
In view of the previous agreements, the parliamentary committee, including the chief whips of the ruling party, have expressed their commitment in writing to pass the new School Education Act 2082 by the House of Representatives within 15 days.
The teachers' federation has issued a statement after the agreement and requested to do all the work related to school admission, regular classes and examinations from today with the confidence that the Act will be issued in time.
The agreement was reached on Wednesday after three consecutive days of talks in the presence of the Education Minister and stakeholder ministers. After the cabinet meeting, the spokesperson of the government, Communications Minister Prithivi Subba Gurung, informed that the nine-point agreement was accepted by the cabinet and implemented in the process.
