A video in which RPP vice chairman Rabindra Mishra is seen handcuffed while taking him to the court to extend his detention period has shown how autocratic the present government is.

Mishra was arrested for his involvement in the violent activities of Tinkune on March 28 in which two persons were killed. He has been in police custody since March 28 although RPP leader Dhawal Shumsher arrested with Mishra was released citing his health issues.

This week when the public saw Mishra handcuffed on the court premises, the government drew criticism that it was showing an autocratic attitude.

Individuals have launched a campaign on social networks for the release of Mishra saying that he was innocent and not involved in violent activities.

Some have accused the government of plotting conspiracy against Mishra and Durga Prasain by developing fake charges and sending them to jail.

The government is seen practising autocracy and biases against those campaigning for the restoration of the institution of the monarchy.

These developments indicate that the political leaders in the government are afraid of collapsing republicanism.
