The brutal killing of 27 Hindus, including a Nepali national, in Pahalgam, Kashmir, India, has further fueled India-Pakistan tensions with border troops exchanging fire almost every day.

While the Nepal government, President, Prime Minister, former King, leaders and political parties have strongly condemned the ghastly attack of April 22, tensions between India and Pakistan have escalated over the attack.

Sudip Neupane, one of the Nepali pilgrims to Amarnath, was shot in the attack while 24 Indian tourists and one local were killed brutally.

After the attack, there is a fear that a fifth war will break out between the arch-rival nuclear nations of South Asia. Earlier, the two countries fought four wars in 1947, 1965, 1971 and 1999.

While India has already raised the issue of Pahalgam attack in the United Nations, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has vowed not to spare anyone involved in the attack.

India has already taken several measures against Pakistan for training the 'terrorists' within Pakistan. India has suspended the Indus River agreement, scrapped visas granted to Pakistani nationals and expelled them.

Although Pakistan denies sponsoring terrorists, India blames Pakistan for the attack in Kashmir. The SARRC has been on its deathbed after India denied attending the 19th SARRC Summit in Islamabad in 2016 November citing an attack in Uri the same year.

India and Pakistan often exchange blame if any attack occurs in the two countries.

Pakistan has blamed India for terrorism in Pakistan including Balochistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and other areas, and India has blamed Pakistan for any terrorist attack in Jammu Kashmir and other places in India.

Pakistan said it is ready to support an independent probe commission to investigate the terrorist attack on Pahalgam. But India is not been ready to accept that.

Instead of finding a permanent solution to terrorist attacks, these two powerful countries often resort to blame games whenever a fresh attack is carried out.

War and blame games are not solutions. It is evident from the past incidents. But still, India and Pakistan resort to exchanging words whenever any terrorist attack takes place and warn of launching a war.
