The Chakra Memorial Women’s Football Tournament organized by the Chhahari Youth Club in Jorpati, Kathmandu, concluded on April 25.

The final match between Krivel FC and Sankata teams was held at the Nepalaya English School’s playground, in which, Krivel FC declared the winner.  

The winning team bagged a reward worth 50 thousand rupees and a shield, whereas, the runner-up team Sankata bagged 25 thousand rupees.

Bimal Thakuri, Minister for Tourism and Culture of the Bagmati Province, distributed prizes to the teams that stood first and second in the match.

Sanjaya Lama, chairman of the Gokarneshwar Youth and Sports Committee, Nandalal Shrestha, Ward Chair of Ward No 8 of the Gokarneshwar Municipality, shed light on the significance of sports in society.

Niranjan Shrestha, treasurer of the Club had shed light activities of the Club, whereas, the Club’s patrons Madhav Khanal and Dipak Bhandari and founding chairman Laxaman Shrestha were honored with a token of love.

The function was chaired by the Club’s chairman Sangam Shrestha. Earlier to the final match, a charity friendship match was organized among the members of the Gokarnashwar Women’s Group.
