The opening up of new travel routes to hitherto virgin Dolpa, Mustang and Manang north of the Himalayan in the Tibetan plateau is myopic say Karns Shakya.

Mr Shakya is a naturalist-hotelier conservationist of a multi-dimensional interest. He added that during the Panchayat days, it was not opened for political-diplomatic reasons also but the fact of the matter is that this exotic paradise cannot sustain the rush of tourists as its fragile venation and shortage of water supply will not be totally damaged forever.

Mr Shakya is currently president of Nepal Heritage Society and has recently organized a photo exhibition at the local NAFA Hall to around consciousness among both the environment-friendly habitat of the Kathmandu Valley that has been ravaged by human greed and insensitivity in the name of “development”.
