Kathmandu, April 29: The leaders of the Unified Socialist, who reached the teachers’ agitation venue to express their solidarity on their agitation, were insulted and sent back from the venue on Monday.

Madhav Kumar Nepal, Jhalanath Khanal and Rajendra Pandey were among those who reached the teachers’ agitation venue expressing solidarity.

After the teachers chanted slogans against the leaders, they had to return without expressing their opinion. They said they would not allow their movement to be politicized and suggested the leaders return and take the initiative to pass the law through parliament before coming to Baneshwor to support them. The teachers have continued their strike for the 27th day on Monday demanding the immediate issuance of the School Education Act.

Later, Nepal, in a video message, said that they were not insulted by the teachers and they returned from the venue after expressing solidarity with the teachers’ agitation.
