
Kathmandu, April 27: The Janamat Party and the Nagarik Unmukti Party have decided to merge into one party. The unification announcement ceremony is taking place on Baisakh 17 (April 30) in Kathmandu.
Janamat Party Spokesperson Dr. Sharad Singh Yadav informed that the date of party unification has been fixed for April 30. According to him, a meeting of the party's central executive committee has been called for April 29 for further discussions on party unification. The Janamat Party has asked the leaders to attend the meeting at the party's central office in Baneshwor at 6 pm with their citizenship and voter ID cards, to produce them at the Election Commission.
The Party has invited all central members, including members of fraternal and well-wisher organizations, to attend the party unity declaration program to be held at Nepal Pragya Pratishthan on Wednesday. The leaders have said that after the unification, the name of the party, the party flag, and the party leadership have also reached a consensus. The proposed name of the new party is Nagarik Janamat Party. After the unification, it has been agreed that CK Raut will be the chairman of the party, while Nagarik Unmukti Party’s Patron Resham Chaudhary will be the patron of the new party and its Chairman Ranjita Shrestha will be the co-chairperson.
Currently, there are six members of the Janamat Party and four members of the Nagarik Unmukti Party in Parliament.
