
Kathmandu, April 25: Challenging the current system, the Joint People's Movement Committee, which is working to restore the constitutional monarchy, has drawn the attention of national and international human rights organizations to the human rights violations committed by the government in the Tinkune incident on March 28.
The Joint People's Movement Committee, led by coordinator Nawaraj Subedi, submitted a petition to the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (UNHCHR) and the National Human Rights Commission on Friday. On the occasion, Subedi was accompanied by Hari Bahadur Basnet, a member of the steering committee of the Committee.
Detailed information regarding human rights violations was made available at a press conference organized by the Committee. The press conference, addressed by coordinator Subedi, was held on Friday in Kathmandu after the submission of the petition.
