On the occasion of the 54th anniversary of the Independence Day and the National Day of Bangladesh, Charge d“Affaires a.i. of the Bangladesh Embassy, Mohammad Humayun Kabir, hosted a reception on April 17.
Vice President Ram Sahaya Yadav attended the ceremony as the chief guest.
Leaders from different political parties, heads of constitutional bodies, heads of the diplomatic missions in Nepal, senior bureaucrats, senior Nepal Army officials, businessmen, senior journalists and friends of Bangladesh were present on the occasion.
Charge d“Affaires a.i. Kabir, welcoming the guests, shed light on the deepening bilateral relations between Nepal and Bangladesh.
He said Bangladesh and Nepal share historic bonds of friendship grounded on social, cultural and civilizational linkages that have been cemented over the years.
He said that Bangladesh been working closely with Nepal on issues like United Nations Peacekeeping, climate change and LDC graduation strategy. "We are confident to work together with our Nepalese friends to harness and further strengthen the bilateral relations in the years ahead and help each in the journey of graduating from the LDC group in 2026," Kabir added.
A video was screened displaying Nepal-Bangladesh relations and information about Bangladesh.
