Earth has experienced several changes since its origin but during the last 10,000 years, the average annual temperature of the earth’s surface has varied very rarely by 1-2 Celsius only and the last Ice Age had an average of only 5 Celsius lower than today. But human activities are now causing the release of a number of products in the atmosphere resulting in a greenhouse effect on the earth’s surface with an increase in its temperature by 3.5 to 4.2 Celsius in the next 50 to 60 Years. If this global warming continues, this could bring major changes in climate, sea level and even society beyond man’s capacity to adapt.
