Kathmandu, April 21: Prime Minister K.P. Sharma Oli said the nation’s economy cannot sustain the increasing cost caused by fulfilling teachers' demands.

Earlier, it was expected that the demands put forward by the teachers would be fulfilled in a package by today’s cabinet meeting. In the cabinet meeting, PM Oli said that he is negotiating with the teachers to stop the ongoing agitation launched by the teachers.

Meanwhile, Education Minister Bidhya Bhattarai tendered her resignation when she felt that the government was not going to respond to the teachers’ demands. Earlier, Bhattarai had expressed commitment to fulfilling the teachers’ demands.
