Kathmandu, April 20: While the pro-monarchy movement is going on in the country, the general secretary of the Communist Party of Nepal (Male), Chandra Prakash (CP) Mainali, is standing in favor of the restoration of the institute of the monarchy. He supported the monarchy at a program organized by the royalists in Kathmandu on Saturday.

At the event, organized by Civil Uprising, Mainali spoke in favor of the monarchy and claimed that the ongoing pro-monarchy movement will get a success soon.

"There have been four successful movements in Nepal in 2007, 2017, 2047 and 2063," he said, adding, "Now there is a pro-monarchy movement in 2082, which is going to become successful shortly".

Mentioning that he participated in the movement, he claimed that the movement would become successful. He added, "There are many who like the king within the Nepali Congress and the Communist parties, therefore, don’t condemn other political parties.” He suggested the pro-monarchy groups take support from these political parties to restore the institution of monarchy.

Mainali claimed that the Prithivi Path proposed by the pro-monarchists was introduced 250 years ago. According to him, this Path began after the unification of 22-24 states by Prithvi Narayan Shah. He said that Khagendra Sitaula and Bharat Basnet wrote a book on this and Mainali had helped them in writing the book. "Without the Prithivi Path, neither the democratic socialism of the Congress nor the socialism of the Communists can move forward," he said.

Nationalism is the main source of the Prithivi Path. Not bowing down to foreigners is the fundamental ideology of the Prithivi Path, Mainali described. Mainali is a communist politician. He is the general secretary of CPN-ML for a long time, having been in the limelight since the 2028 Jhapa Movement. Mainali, who became the Deputy Prime Minister in 2017, broke away from the Nepal Communist Party (UML) and reestablished ML. He was re-elected as the general secretary of the Chitwan Mahasammelan.
