
Kathmandu, April 19: On its 18th anniversary, Citizens Bank International Limited provided food for 18 days from April 2 to 19 to about 1900 people who were homeless and lost their mental balance and taking shelter on the streets. The bank is celebrating its 18th annual festival on April 20.
The bank, in collaboration with Bhotu-Indira Social Welfare Organization, has distributed food to homeless people living on river banks, roadsides, and under bridges in Jorpati, Chabahil, Boudha, Maitidevi, Setopul, Purano Baneshwor, Bhimsengola, Battisputali, Sinamangal, Gaushala, and other places in Kathmandu.
In addition, the Bank has organized free health camps in all seven provinces from March 15 to April 19 on the occasion of the anniversary. Health camps were held at Haldibari and Mahendrachok in Koshi Province, Vidyapati Chowk in Madhesh Province, Budhanilkantha in Bagmati Province, Amrapuri in Gandaki Province, Hospital Line and Jitpur in Lumbini Province, Srinagar and Dullu in Karnali Province, and Mahendranagar in Far-Western Province. Around 1,700 patients have benefited from these health camps.
Every year, the Bank has been providing financial assistance to organizations working for social transformation, in addition to conducting various programs to mark its annual celebration. In the coming days, the Bank plans to conduct various programs to bring positive changes in the social, economic, cultural, and educational, etc. areas under the Institutional Social Responsibility Program.
The Bank, which has won the title of 'Bank of the Year 2024', the world's prestigious award, has recently launched the first-ever "Citizens PhonePay Credit Card" (Virtual Credit Card) in Nepal in collaboration with PhonePay, as well as the first-ever share application and CRN number service through mobile banking app in Nepal. Citizens Bank has been providing modern banking services to 18,79,000 customers from its 200 branches, 168 ATMs, 3 extended counters and 74 branchless banking units spread across 61 districts across the country.
