Kathmandu, April 18: The Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) has decided to hold demonstrations in the prohibited areas of Kathmandu on Sunday, April 20.
The decision was taken at a meeting of the party's central working committee held at the party headquarters in Dhumbarahi on Thursday, party chair Rajendra Lingden said. He said that the decision to hold protests in the prohibited areas was taken as the government was trying to curtail the right to freedom of expression of the citizens.
According to him, the meeting has also decided to expand the party organization and take the movement together. He has also decided to organise protest meetings, sit-ins and demonstration programs in all 77 districts on April 22. It has also been decided to strengthen the organization in every ward of the Valley and focus the movement, he added. He said that it has been decided to take forward the political and legal battle for the release of the leaders arrested after the Tinkune movement.
