Former King Gyanendra Shah, analyzing the present chaos and detrition of the nation in all sectors, prescribed the countrymen to adopt the Prithivi Path based on the Divine Counsel (Dibya Upadesh) as the roadmap for nation-building.

The significance of the Dibya Upadesh is still relevant for the nation, the King remarked.

In his video message released on the eve of New Year 2082 BS, on Sunday, the King extended the New Year greetings to the Nepalis at home and abroad.

King Gyanendra Shah extended best wishes for happiness and peace to all Nepali within the country and abroad.

The King stated that he was always conscious and sensitive that there be no conflict among the Nepalis and a sad sense of violence among each other.

The former King expressed sadness over the human and physical losses that occurred in the course of the violence, arson, vandalism and demonstrations in Tinkune on March 28.

“The beauty of democracy is the right to speak; while enjoying such rights, one must take care of others,” the King has remarked.

“The patriotic sentiment among us is truly exemplary and worthy of emulation worldwide,” King Gyanendra said.

“The confidence among people for a prosperous nation has instilled confidence that the New Year 2082 will bring results aligned with the aspirations of the Nepalese people,” the King expressed his confidence.

He further expressed his belief in multiparty democracy and constitutional monarchy as the base of the political system considered the best political modality.

Citing the changing global scenario, the former King suggested focusing on a self-reliant economy and consuming local products as much as possible.

“Export of youths should be stopped; all should focus on employment promotion within the country and attracting foreign direct investments,” the King said.

“Nepal is a beautiful haven,” he said and asked to launch a campaign to return all the Nepalis to their motherland.

Former King Gyanendra has pointed out that a drastic change is needed in the education, health and administration sectors.

“The nation should become free from corruption ensuring good governance”.

“We are seriously worried about the deteriorating economic sector and sick economy. The nation can no longer bear the ongoing corruption practices.”

“We are seriously concerned about not making Nepal a conflict ground.”
