Kathmandu, April 14: The Nepal Airlines Corporation has paid Rs 539,55,281. The Airlines said the amount was paid in one lump-sum payment as an instalment against the purchase of Airbus aircraft.

Out of the loan taken from the Employees' Savings Fund and the Civil Investment Fund, the Corporation has paid the full instalment of two narrow-body aircraft and a partial instalment of two wide-body aircraft until April 13.

Since the current management took over the responsibility, the corporation has paid a loan amount of Rs 7,39,58,095 crore till the year 2081 BS.

In view of the negative impact on business due to the Corona epidemic, the Corporation has made a formal request to the funding agencies to waive interest, penalties and damages incurred during this period and to extend the instalment period.
