Kathmandu, April 14: Former King Gyanendra Bir Bikram Shah Dev, extended the New Year greetings to all the Nepalis at home and abroad through a video message released on Sunday, April 13, on the eve of New Year 2082 BS.
The King, in the message, has expressed the opinion for changing the present political system as per the wish of the people and urged for a multiparty system with a constitutional monarchy, which would address the present anomalies.
In a 14-minute video address, the King expressed sorrow over the killing of two youths and also violence on the March 28 peaceful assembly in Tinkune.
The King explained the existing anomalies in the country and urged their resolution through a change.
He praised the patriotism of the Nepali people and criticized the current political leadership for failing to bring about stability and prosperity.
