Kathmandu, April 13: The clash in Birgunj was a communal dispute between the two religious communities.

When the Hindu followers were carrying out a rally on the occasion of the Hanuman Jayenti, a confrontation took place with the Muslim community at Chhapkaya, near the Muslim Musk.

When the situation went out of control, the Parsa District Administration had to impose a curfew around the area.

Even after the curfew, when the Police were unable to bring the situation under control, the Nepal Army was deployed on Saturday night.

The curfew period will be ending at 12 noon today.

17 Nepal Police personnel and eight Armed Police personnel have been wounded in the clash. Accordingly, 12 locals have been injured in the clash.
