
Kathmandu, April 11: The special team of the Nepal Police has arrested Durga Prasain from Kakarvitta in Jhapa District. Prasain is being escorted to Kathmandu from Chandragadhi by plane.
Prasain, commander of the Joint Committee for Restoration of the Institution of Monarchy, escaped from Kathmandu after breaking the Police blockade at Tinkune on March 28 after the peaceful assembly turned violent.
The peaceful assembly on March 28 turned violent after the Police fired tear gas at the stage even before starting the assembly formally.
Reports state that Prasain had surrendered to the Assam Police in Gohati, India, and the Indian Police had handed over Prasain to the special team at the Nepal-India border in Kakarvitta this morning.
