Kathmandu, April 10: Dr. Jagman Gurung, the acting coordinator of the Joint People's Movement for the Restoration of the Royal Institution, has announced a mass arrest on May 5 if Nawaraj Subedi, who is under house arrest, Rabindra Mishra, Dr Dhawal Shumsher Rana, and others under government arrest are not released by May 4.

"If our friends who have been arrested by the government, will not be released without condition, we will give a mass arrest on May 5,” said Gurung, at a program organized on Wednesday, April 9, in Kathmandu.

Gurung also informed that the final worship of God and Goddess, Gorakhnath and Gorakhkali, will be performed on Baisakh 19 (May 2) to restore the institution of monarchy in the country.

Dozens of pro-monarchy campaigners have been arrested by the government on the charge of carrying out destructive activities on the March 28 Tinkune assembly organized by the pro-monarchy groups.

The government has denied constituting a judicial probe commission as it planned to create state terror by opening fire on the peaceful assembly.
