Luhuo County, Sichuan — Coinciding with the 70th anniversary of China-Nepal diplomatic relations, the opening ceremony of the "Sichuan-Nepal Specialty Goods" exhibition and sales event was held in Luhuo County on March 29. The ceremony was presided over by Deng Jianguang, Deputy Secretary of the Luhuo County Committee of the Communist Party of China and County Mayor.

Dignitaries Launch Event with Interactive Ceremony

Four distinguished guests took to the stage to inaugurate the event by jointly activating a large interactive screen:

- Mr. Deepak Raj Joshi, CEO of the Nepal Tourism Board;

- Mr. Suresh Raut, Consul General of Nepal in Chengdu;

- Cheng Lu, Member of the Ganzi Prefecture Party Committee Standing Committee and Deputy Governor;

- Gele Duoji, Deputy Director of the Ganzi Prefecture People's Congress Standing Committee and Secretary of the Luhuo County Party Committee of the Communist Party of China.

Cultural Performances Highlight Bilateral Bonds

The ceremony commenced with the Huo'er Ancient Dance, a local cultural heritage performance, where dancers captivated the audience with movements reflecting Luhuo's rich history and ethnic traditions. A Nepali Art Troupe then enthralled the crowd with two classic folk songs, accompanied by dances evoking Nepal's snow-capped mountains, temples, and pastoral villages.

Public Engagement and Exhibition Highlights

"I met Nepali friends today and saw so many unique products from their country. They're welcome in Luhuo!" exclaimed Lhamo, a young attendee, echoing the warmth of the occasion.

The event features a specialty goods exhibition with 45 booths across four themed zones: 

1. Intangible Cultural Heritage

2. Ethnic Handicrafts

3. Agricultural Specialties

4. Cultural and Creative Souvenirs

The exhibition aims to showcase distinctive products from Sichuan and Nepal, fostering cultural and economic collaboration.

Deng Yulan, Deputy Director of Luhuo County's Economy, Information, and Commerce Bureau, stated, "This event establishes a comprehensive platform integrating culture, sports, agriculture, tourism, and commerce to deepen Sichuan-Nepal exchanges."

Running until April 2, the "Cultural and Trade Exchange Month" will combine artistic performances with economic activities, allowing residents to immerse in China-Nepal cultural charm while injecting fresh vitality into bilateral relations and solidifying foundations for future cooperation.
