Our Prime Minister K.P. Sharma Oli chose to fly with Thai International while visiting Thailand for an official visit. Nepal Airlines has also a scheduled flight to Bangkok but the PM chose a foreign aircraft. Once, when PM Oli was visiting China, he chose to fly with the Himalayan Airlianes avoiding the national flag carrier. When the country’s chief executive discriminates against the national flag carrier, how can we believe that the airlines will flourish? It is necessary to strengthen the national flag carrier considering the nation’s geopolitical location and being a landlocked country. It is obvious to add fleets for Nepal Airlines by improving its management. Dozens of committees have been formed and these committees have recommended many improvement measures for the national flag carrier. Without a delay, the government should implement improvement measures and add fleets for both domestic and international sectors. The government is always delaying the improvement of the airlines with vested interests.
Problem with the construction companies
Most of the construction companies don’t complete their projects on time. The government is unable to take action against such construction companies. It is because of the under-the-table deals or say compulsory commission paid to the political leaders and government officials. Furthermore, the government is not stable and along with every change in the government, the project chief will be changed. The project chief’s duty will be to collect commissions from the construction contractors. International financial agencies including the World Bank and, the Asian Development Bank, among others, have suggested the government not change the project chiefs without completion of the project but those corrupt political leaders change the chiefs defying the suggestions. If such anomalies are not ended, the disease of delayed completion of construction projects will become a serious disease.
Rhino census disrupted due to scarcity of funds
The process of taking the rhino census has been halted due to the lack of funds, reports state. According to reports, after USAID was suspended, it stopped funding, and the authorities are facing a scarcity of funds to complete the rhino census. Therefore, the work for conducting rhino census has been halted. This is not a big issue for a country to manage funds for the rhino census, however, this minor issue reflects a serious economic crunch that the government is facing. The government is facing a financial crunch as its general sector or non-productive sector expenditure is very high compared to the country’s size and revenue.
QUOTES OF THE WEEK
The current anomalous politics and the continuation of the state system are showing signs of destroying not only this system but the nation itself sooner or later. Significant improvements in structure and operation levels are inevitable. The classical arguments and arguments of this “ism” and that “ism” or this “Tantra” and that “Tantra” no longer lead anywhere. People are no longer interested in these discussions. People's interests are focused on real issues such as development, production, employment, and accessible education and health. The political establishment has a clear message: “Either correct or be finished!”

The shooting incident that took place in Koteshwor-Tinakune on March 28 -- even if the details given by the police spokesman are considered to be correct, the police are in controversy. The public does not understand what the investigation the police are doing. A civil/judicial commission should be immediately formed to conduct an impartial investigation into the incident.

On a day protest in Tinkune, 60 rounds of bullets (2 rounds from pestle), 746 rounds of tear gas (that also expired), 192 rounds of blank rounds, and 239 rounds of cartridges, 20 people were injured, but the mainstream media in Nepal took 6 days to speak up. The speech of the "Human Rights Commission" and the "human rights workers" have not yet broken! Video footage is also said to be deep-fake. Now, you need to learn how to make deep-fake videos!

The employees of the Kathmandu Metropolitan City broke the office of the Metropolitan. It remains to be seen in whose name Mayor Balen will issue a letter for paying a fine! Whether Balen will send a letter to King Mahendra?

Senior Maoist leader and former Prime Minister of the country, Baburam Bhattarai, who has never been second in his life, says that Sher Bahadur Deuba, Prachanda, and KP Oli together have embezzled 9 billion rupees in the Budhi Gandaki project, not only that, he claimed that he would produce evidence. Whether such expressions true or false or do they need to be investigated or not? When Nepalis are listening to such expressions, the question arises as to how many scams have been committed in which other projects?

Who in this country would have loved the people as much as King Gyanendra Bir Bikram Shah Dev?

Not only Kantipur but all the 12 brothers of “owners" run media have lost their credibility!

Those were the days when I felt incomplete without reading Kantipur. Now, I even don’t like to pronounce its name.

The government will not fairly investigate the March 28 incident. This has to be internationalized. An independent judicial commission should be established. The government’s investigative committee cannot give justice.
Laxmi Ghimire
If the media were strong, the investigation would have already started against the Home Minister and also the Home Administration and the Home Minister would have already been suspended. Unfortunately, the media have stood as the protector of the system by hiding truth and facts.

Monarchy is necessary to get rid of the present semi-colonialism status of the country.
Uddhav Raj Bhetuwal
What does it mean by him (Min Bahadur Gurung of the Bhatbhateni Store) saying that the institution of the monarchy will not be restored? He is the very person who manipulated billions of rupees worth tax!
