
Kathmandu, April 8: Rastriya Prajatantra Party Chairman Rajendra Lingden has proposed that all political parties should reach a new understanding where the institution of monarchy and also the republicans can be adjusted.
Addressing a huge public assembly organized by the party for the restoration of a Hindu Kingdom in Kathmandu today, Lingden proposed establishing a system that would encompass everyone from the king to republicans.
“Let all political forces work together to come up with a new understanding. Let's include the good things of yesterday and some of the good things of today in the new political system," he said.
He said, “A system with the king and democracy is obvious for the country”. “Let's keep the king as a parent institution”, he said.
He claimed that the country could be developed within 10 years if all the political actors joined hands.
The public assembly was organized for the restoration of a Hindu kingdom and also demanded the release of RPP’s senior leaders, vice chairman Rabindra Mishra, MP and general secretary Dhawal Shumsher Rana and other leaders and activists arrested by the police and attempting to put fake charges on them.
RPP leaders addressing the civic assembly, demanded the immediate release of the RPP leaders arrested on the fake charges on the March 28 Tinkune incident.
