Kathmandu, April 7: Ravi Lamichhane, the Chairman of the Rashtriya Swatantra Party (RSP), who was arrested in connection with the Supreme Cooperative fraud case of Butwal, has been sent to the Bhairahawa jail under judicial custody.

On Monday, the District Police Office, Rupandehi, sent Lamichhane to Bhairahawa jail until further orders.

Lamichhane was arrested from Kathmandu last Friday and was taken to Bhairahawa Saturday morning by a flight of Yeti Airlines. On Friday, the Butwal High Court of Tulsipur ordered Lamichhane to keep Lamichhane under judicial custody altering the verdict of the Butwal District Court.

The order was issued by Justice Ramesh Dhakal dismissing the order of the District Court of Rupandehi to release Lamichhane on bail worth Rs 1 crore.
