
Kathmandu, April 6: A new nationalist movement called 'Citizen Uprising' has been formally formed under the collective leadership of independent activists, and nationalist personalities who have been raising their voices against social, economic and political distortions for a long time.
The movement, which is based on Gita's philosophy aims to select its leadership from the street. Spokesperson of the movement and Secretariat member Chiranjeevi Bhattarai said "We are not this plaintiff, we are Nepalis and nationalists."
The Movement’s Member Secretary Biresh Thapa has warned that any interference or distortion in the national issue will be countered by them.
According to Ranjan Khanal, a member of the steering committee and independent analyst, the main demands of the movement include the restoration of Hindu Vedic Sanatan Dharma, constitutional monarchy, a powerful executive prime minister, an end to financial anarchy, legalization of cannabis and precious herbs and plants, and the formation of an agricultural army.
The Movement is going to start from Pokhara on April 8. The full committee and additional program information will be made public at the next major press conference.
