Kathmandu, April 5: The Rastriya Prajatantra Party’s senior leaders—Senior Vice Chairman Rabindra Mishra, General Secretary Dr Dhawal Shumsher Rana, and Member of Parliament Dr Dhawal Shumsher Rana, among others—have been arrested by the Kathmandu Police since March 28 and plan to file different cases, including the charge of creating terror against the state. They are handcuffed while being presented to the court.

Meanwhile, the High Court in Butwal gave the verdict for the arrest of Rastriya Swatantra Party Chairman, Rabi Lamichhane on Friday in Butwal on the charge of cooperatives fraud by altering the verdict of the district court. Immediately, the Police reached his Hattigauda residence in Kathmandu to arrest him on the same day of the court verdict.

Normally, the court gives an arrest order to avoid the possibility of being disappeared, however, Lamichhane was released on bail ampunt from different district courts and was facing the charges, therefore, there was no need to keep him under the judicial costudy.

Lamichhane said that this was a state terror organized against him.

The RSP has given the responsibility of the acting chairman of the party to DP Aryal after Lamichhane was arrested.
