Kathmandu, April 5: Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak, who was addressing the State Affairs and Good Governance Committee of the House of Representatives on Friday, declined the formation of a judicial enquiry commission to investigate the state terror killing two youths and injuring around two dozen people in the Tinkune incident on March 28.

Independent observers, human rights activists and independent legal experts have remarked that the government was solely responsible for provoking participants of the peaceful assembly organized by different groups which was commanded by Durga Prasain.

The peaceful demonstration was agitated after the Police fired tear gas at the stage even before the formal start of the program.

The police used excessive force and unnecessarily used bullets targeting pedestrians.

WHO IS AFRAID OF A JUDUCUAL ENQUERY COMMISSION?

Of course, the answer is the Oli-led government! Minister Lekhak said to the Parliament Committee that the government itself is investigating the incident.

It means that the government is performing the role of a judge, jury and executioner.

This denial of the Home Minister confirms that the government was solely responsible for suppressing the peaceful assembly organized demanding restoration of the institution of monarchy.
