
Kathmandu, April 4: Speaker Devraj Ghimire has left for Tashkent, the capital of Uzbekistan, leading a Nepali delegation to participate in the 150th Annual Assembly of the Inter-Legislative Assembly and the Fourth Summit of the Non-Aligned Movement Parliamentary Network.
The team headed by the Speaker Ghimire flew to Uzbekistan via Doha on a Qatar Airways flight this morning. The delegation includes federal lawmakers Shyam Kumar Ghimire, Anjan Shakya, Suryaman Dong Tamang, Sobita Gautam, Secretary General of the Federal Parliament Padma Prasad Pandey, Secretary of the House of Representatives Harkaraj Rai, Principal Private Secretary to the Speaker Tej Prakash Bhattarai and Deputy Secretary of the Parliament Secretariat Raju Rimal.
The 150th Annual Meeting of the Inter-Parliamentary Union and the 4th Summit of the Non-Aligned Movement Parliamentary Network will be held in Tashkent from April 5 to 9. At the meeting of the Inter-Legislative Association, Speaker Ghimire will address the topic 'Parliamentary Steps for Social Development and Justice'. MPs Shyamkumar Ghimire and Suryaman Dong will attend the meeting of the Standing Committee of the Tamang Inter-Legislative Association.
