
Kathmandu, April 4: Nepal Rastra Bank Governor Maha Prasad Adhikari has left the Rastra Bank today after completing his tenure. Adhikari, who was appointed as the Governor of the Rastra Bank on Chaitra 24, 2076 BS, has officially left today. Before leaving the office, Adhikari held a press conference on the Bank premises.
He thanked the Supreme Court judges and advocates for helping to preserve the central bank's autonomy during his tenure, saying it has operated in accordance with global recognition and values.
Adhikari was reinstated by the court after the government led by Pushpakamal Dahal had terminated him illegally. He thanked the former deputy governors of Rastra Bank, the current deputy governors, the retired executive directors and staffers, the current executive directors and staffers, and the media for supporting him throughout his tenure.
The government has yet to appoint a new governor.
