Kathmandu, April 3: Teachers are organizing the Kathmandu-centric protest demanding the School Education Act. On Wednesday, teachers demonstrated from Maitighar to Baneshwor in Kathmandu. Today also, the teachers are organizing a demonstration.  

In the demonstration organized by the Teachers Federation, the rallies taken out from various places in Kathmandu have turned into a sit-in at Maitighar. They held an indefinite period demonstration with placards and slogans such as Teachers Unity for Rights and Duties, My Movement, Respect Teaching Profession, Fulfill Our Demands, and Issue Education Act.

They have focused this movement as a decisive step towards the promulgation of the School Education Act.

The demonstrators have said that after the promulgation of an ordinance by the government related to the Education Act, the protest program will be ended.

When the winter session of Parliament didn’t finalize the act, the teachers launched an indefinite period of agitation beginning on April 2.
