Viewing the scared and trembling mentality of the senior political leaders of the political parties and their fragile efforts in defending republicanism, it seems, the unfortunate demise of republicanism is very close.

After the 2006 April uprising, commoners have always witnessed the daylight loot organized by the supreme leaders of major political parties. They are continuously enjoying power and organizing daylight loot, transforming the “loktantra” (democracy) into a loot-tantra (kleptocracy). Besides, the present loktantra has flourished broker-ism and political leaders have been transformed into dealers or agents of the businessmen. The business people can take an unlimited amount of benefit and the government paved the way for them by amending the law. There are talks about paying a commission in advance worth 400 million rupees for being rewarded with the post of the Nepal Rastra Bank governor. The Nepal Electricity Authority chief was sacked just four months before his retirement as if the government service holders are their personal servants. If we go through the scandals and crimes committed by the political leaders since the 1990 political change, they will be a very large file. Now, one burning question has been surfaced that whether our motherland is safe and secure! How long the nation can survive under the present rampant corruption and commission and the strong domination of the foreign powers in all sectors? Concerned about the fate of the motherland, people, including educated youths, have come down to the streets demanding strong punishment to those political leaders. Although those corrupt leaders blamed those people in the streets were the monarchy supporters, more than that, the human sea in the streets are the nation lovers and the present clash can be defined as the struggle between the pro-Nepal and anti-Nepal groups. It will be more than enough to watch the history of Pushpakamal Dahal and Baburam Bhattarai and if one has the time, he also can go through the history of Sher Bahadur Deuba, K.P. Shamra Oli, Madhav Nepal, Ramchandra Paudel, among others. Most of the so-called communist leaders have a criminal background and are jailed on the charge of murder crimes.

We have concluded that the violence and killing of two youths, including one media person was a planned plot against the peaceful assembly. Scared of the end of their luxurious lives, the plan was developed to defame the already deposed king. Viewing the overwhelming support in favor of the deposed king, the leaders of the government and also the opposition are afraid. Whatever plan or conspiracy will be developed for safeguarding republicanism, its demise is obvious.
