Kathmandu, March 31: Former ambassador to South Korea, senior journalist, the then editor of the Drishti vernacular weekly, presently a columnist in the Sanghu vernacular weekly, died on Sunday evening around 9 pm while undergoing treatment at the KMC Hospital in Kathmandu.

The late Koirala was the elder son of the late Matrika Prasad Koirala, former prime minister of the country.

Although a communist leader and also associated with the UML in the past, he was strong critic of the present "camel-like" political system and loot-tantra practiced by the political leaders in an organized way. Koirala had also disclosed the fact that his party UML had asked to pay three million rupees before his assignment as the ambassador to South Korea.

Koirala felt sick a few days ago.

The People's Review weekly family prays the Almighty for the eternal peace of the departed soul and extends heartfelt condolences to all the members of the bereaved family.
